Tips for others: Samsung TV has HDMI ports hidden on the right side, I had to use a camera to confirm they existed and was able to plug in- switching sources requires pressing the button on the bottom middle of the TV. The shower worked great just set your temperature before you get in. Completely adequate motel experience- nice staff- functioning facilities and we had everything we needed. Beds comfy, mini fridge and microwave were fine. Thanks for the experience!

Never stayed in a motor lodge before, was always a little skeptical but this place proved me wrong. Recently renovated, rooms were great, beds comfy! Everything you could need, great price and great location!
This vintage motor lodge with a vibrant history was earlier the Duke of Dare Motor Lodge in Manteo. The newly renovated rooms have been appreciated by many guests. While still being fairly new, having re-opened in Aug 2021, the Heart of Manteo has become a new favorite for budget conscious travelers. The rooms, while being modest, are very comfortable with all necessary standard amenities including the free high speed Wi-Fi, free parking, DIRECTV channels, 55" LED TV's, in-room microwave, fridge, coffee-maker, iron and board and more. This motel is ideal for solo travelers and families. Guests loved the convenient location just 5 minutes away from the waterfront boardwalk.
Roanoke Island Festival Park is less than a mile away (0.8 mi). Right next to the motel is the Piggly Wiggly store, The El Shaddai Peruvian Chicken restaurant and a laundromat. Pizza hut is a 5 min walk & delivers right to your room. This motel gets sold out during peak season and travelers are advised to reserve rooms well in advance to ensure availability.
